Cabrini Technology acquires VHHE/Mobile RepairsDate: 16/05/2017
Cabrini Technology has added another business to its stable with the recent acquisition of Victorian Home Health Equipment or VHHE/Mobile Repairs. This business, which employs approximately 40 staff, has been operating successfully in the assistive technology sales, repairs and rental business in Victoria for almost three decades.
“This addition complements a number of other health technology businesses under the Cabrini Technology umbrella,” said Cabrini Technology’s National General Manager Tim Staker. “Through the acquisition of VHHE/Mobile Repairs assets and the transfer of staff and customer contracts, we strengthen our capabilities in the provision of high quality equipment and support, particularly in the health, aged-care and disability sectors.”
In February 2016, VHHE joined forces with the Western Australia based company KCare Pty Ltd. The company’s manufacturing division fell into difficulties, and placed in receivership and administration. While VHHE/Mobile Repairs had been trading well, it was affected by the receivership and administration causing it to close briefly last month. Its doors are open again and its business as usual, with Cabrini having purchased its assets and offering employment to former staff.
Most of the operations will move from Croydon to the Cabrini Technology Mount Waverley facility and it is expected that VHHE/Mobile Repairs will maintain retail outlets for equipment sales and rental equipment hire returns.
Mr Staker is optimistic about opportunities for growth and development in this area of Cabrini Technology’s service. “Supported with the financial strength and stability of Cabrini, a not-for-profit organisation, our customers can be assured that any surpluses are used to improve our services while keeping costs to our customers as low as possible,” he said. “We will retain all existing contracts and strive to build on existing relationships and services while exploring new opportunities such as widening our range of equipment and expansion of the new services interstate.”
