The Cabrini General Practice, located at 992 Glenhuntly Road in Caulfield South, is open and accepting new patients.

This friendly, well-established family GP clinic provides a wide range of primary healthcare services. Consultations are available with male and female GPs. The clinic is open from Monday to Friday from 8.30 am until 6 pm and on Saturdays from 8.30 am until 11 am.

Cabrini is committed to providing comprehensive general practice care to individuals and families in Caulfield South and surrounding suburbs. Consultations are by appointment, although urgent cases will always be seen. Further, home visits are available to patients who live within a certain distance of the practice.

The following doctors work at the Cabrini General Practice:

  • Dr Naomi Bronzite


Naomi studied medicine in London, UK at the Royal Free Hospital, graduating in 1992. She spent her postgraduate years in London where she qualified and practised as a GP. In 1999, together with her husband and four children, she relocated to Holland where she became a partner in a general practice just outside of Amsterdam. In 2011, she emigrated to Australia, and has worked in general practices Werribee and Prahran. Naomi is actively involved in teaching, having taught both GP registrars and second-year medical students locally. Although a generalist, she especially enjoys dealing with issues with women’s health and paediatrics.

  • Dr Mellanie Lloyd

MBBS, FRACGP, Certificate Sexual Health and Family Planning, Diploma in Child Health

Mellanie is Principal Medical Officer at the Cabrini General Practice. She graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 2001 and gained her fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners in 2007. Mellanie’s medical practice has taken her to many places from the UK to the surf coast of Victoria. As a general practitioner, she has worked in many locations around Melbourne. Mellanie has worked at Family Planning Victoria, including a position as Senior Medical Officer responsible for updating the Sexual Health Clinical Operations Protocols. She enjoys the diversity of general practice and treating patients through all stages of their life. Her particular interests include sexual health, women’s health and children’s health. She is a mother of four young children.

  • Dr Karen Lewis

MBBS (Hons), FRACGP, Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health

Karen graduated from Monash University in 1988. She completed postgraduate training at Box Hill and Caulfield hospitals. She has been working in general practice since 1992. Dr Lewis is vocationally registered and her special interests include women’s health, mental health and medical education, having been an educator for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Further, she is an examiner for this college.

  • Dr Jamie McDonald (Medical Director)


Jamie graduated in medicine from the University of Tasmania and spent a number of years in the permanent forces of the Royal Australian Navy before returning to study, completing his Diploma in Obstetrics in 1990. Jamie spent 12 years in general practice, mostly as a GP obstetrician. For the past 17 years, Jamie has worked at Cabrini in various roles. He established the staff clinic at Cabrini Malvern in 1999 and hospital-in-the-home unit in 2005, where he remains medical director. He is involved in undergraduate student teaching.

The medical team is supported by dedicated staff led by Mary Josephides (Practice Manager). They bring many years of experience and are fully accredited in first-aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
