The Paediatric Pre-Admission Clinic provides you and your child with information required for same day and overnight admissions. It also provides an opportunity for the healthcare team to gain information about any specific needs of your child, commence an individual plan of care prior to their admission and to inform you of any specific requirements that are needed prior to their discharge.
You will receive a phone call from the Pre-Admission Clinic Nurse 24-72 hours prior to admission. We will discuss the admission date and time, if your child is required to fast and when to start fasting, your child’s current health and medical history, including any allergies, and any other issues of concern.
If your child has been booked for admission with short notice you may not receive a pre-admission phone call but the information will be given to you on arrival.
