Cabrini opens purpose-built Orthopaedic Specialist Centre
02/04/2025
The opening of the Cabrini Orthopaedic Specialist Centre last week marks a significant milestone in the redevelopment of the hospital and orthopaedic service expansion. The centre offers not only bespoke and comfortable consulting suites for patients and their treating surgeons but also the added benefit of the shared knowledge of a group of specialists at the cutting edge of orthopaedic surgery.
“It’s a great advantage for us all to be together in the one centre,” orthopaedic surgeon Mr Brian Loh said. “We can share expertise and knowledge, with better collaboration to improve Orthopaedic Surgical care; ultimately benefiting our patients.”
Patients will also benefit from improved access to surgery when two new operating theatres open at the hospital early next year. This is part of the next phase of Cabrini’s redevelopment, which will increase surgical capacity.
“Having expanded Cabrini services and infrastructure means we can support more patients,” orthopaedic surgeon Mr Adrian Trivett said. “More than that, though, it will allow us to provide tertiary level care for complex patients in a private facility.”
Mr Trivett has been consulting and operating out of Cabrini for 23 years and is excited for what the future holds as the hospitals expand their offerings.
“Cabrini is a quality hospital that stands for excellence,” he said. “The operating theatres are fantastic, the wards are great, and the nurses really care for our patients.
“As we move into this new era, Cabrini will continue to invest in technology and expertise, which will lead to better care and improved patient experience – being treated by expert teams with the best equipment, and shortening lengths of stay to get people home quicker to their own beds and back with their families sooner.
“It’s an exciting time to be a part of Cabrini.”
The Orthopaedic Specialist Centre is located at Cabrini Malvern, accessed via the Gandel Wing entrance on Isabella Street.
