A safe environment for your care

Cabrini remains open and ready to provide quality, compassionate care to our community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sue Williams

A message from Cabrini’s Chief Executive,

Sue Williams

Thank you for choosing Cabrini for your treatment and care.

While many people may feel nervous about attending hospital at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to reassure you that Cabrini remains safe to attend for your healthcare needs.

As the COVID-19 situation evolves, we are adapting our response to ensure we are safely meeting the healthcare needs of our community. This has included scaling back some services, such as non-urgent surgery, and adapting services to be delivered in different ways, including telehealth.

Our dedicated team remains committed to delivering the same quality and compassionate care you have come to expect.

At Cabrini, you can be confident you are being cared for in a safe environment.

We have stringent infection control processes in place to ensure the safety of our staff, patients, residents and community and our team is well-equipped to diagnose and manage infectious diseases, including COVID-19.

Cabrini is part of a coordinated healthcare sector response to manage the coronavirus situation, and we are following all Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) guidelines and recommendations.

Everyone has a role to play here, so I ask you to please follow the guidance provided by our staff, online and on display at our sites.

We understand this is a challenging time for our whole community, including those with loved ones in hospital, and we appreciate your ongoing support.

A message from Cabrini’s Medical Director,

Dr Fergus Kerr

Cabrini is making changes to some of our services, to ensure we can continue providing urgent care to our community while remaining available to play our role in the state-wide response to COVID-19.

In line with DHHS advice, Cabrini has commenced increasing surgical activity. More information about this can be found here.

Other services, including urgent services like our emergency department, remain open and safe to attend for your healthcare needs. Please see more details about some of these services below.

  • Cabrini Malvern’s Alan, Ada and Eva Selwyn Emergency Department offers a 24 hour, seven day a week service, for patients who require urgent medical attention and diagnosis. You can view live emergency department wait times by visiting cabrini.com.au/emergency
  • Cabrini specialists are providing face-to-face appointments and offering telehealth consultations to review patients.
  • Cabrini Medical Imaging at Malvern and Brighton continues to provide services including x-rays, CT scans and MRIs.
  • Cabrini Pathology is available for rapid diagnosis and subsequent patient monitoring.
  • Cabrini Allied Health and Rehabilitation Services have temporarily moved to our Cabrini site at 494 Glenhuntly Road, Elsternwick. These services include our chronic disease program, rehabilitation for outpatients, therapy in the home and the Allied Health Centre (physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, speech pathology, health psychology, diabetes education, exercise physiology and podiatry).

It’s important to remember to monitor all your medical needs and seek treatment and care when you need it. Sometimes attending hospital can’t be avoided – and if that happens to you or your loved ones, our medical staff at Cabrini are here and ready to help.
