Dr Aveena Anantharajah

I am a respiratory and sleep paediatrician and take pride in providing tailored, holistic and evidence-based care for my patients. I graduated from medicine at the University of Queensland in 2012 and have had the privilege to work in my field at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Monash Children’s Hospital and the Northern Hospital. I am a clinician who seeks opportunities to think outside the box and optimise care delivery for all children.

My special interests are in asthma, allergic rhinitis, chronic cough, habit cough and obstructive sleep apnoea, including the care of children requiring chronic ventilation. I also care for children with various complex sleep disorders including excessive daytime sleepiness and narcolepsy.

I am passionate in providing innovative care and founded a home sleep diagnostic unit for children and adolescents called Prana Paediatric Sleep Service. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, running after our two young children and honing my skills as a ceramicist.
