Dr Michael Lee
Medical Oncologist
I am a medical oncologist sub specialising in gastrointestinal cancers, pancreatic and neuroendocrine tumours, and I am also committed to delivering comprehensive care for all cancer types. I am recognised as an expert in applying genomic sequencing results to guide targeted therapies.
Through my practice, Can-Therapy, I embrace a CAN-do attitude towards CANcer care: empowering patients to thrive beyond their diagnosis with cutting-edge research, personalised treatments, and compassionate care. I ensure accessibility through DIRECT contact and flexible appointment options, including after-hours telehealth consults. I aim to combine research insights with compassionate care.
Beyond the clinic, my research at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre focuses on targeting RNA processing – an essential molecular mechanism hijacked by cancer to fuel its growth and resistance. I combine advanced computational analyses and functional genomic techniques to help translate a current clinical trial drug into a new therapy for pancreatic cancer patients.
