Dr Thomas Gin
Ophthalmologist
I am an ophthalmologist, cataract surgeon and fellowship-trained medical retinal specialist. My expertise is in cataract surgery and the management of retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vascular disorders.
I graduated with honours in Medicine from the University of Melbourne and ranked first in my clinical school final-year examinations. Following my residency at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, I undertook ophthalmology surgical training in Melbourne at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. I subsequently undertook further fellowship training in the subspecialty field of retina.
I have published several research articles on age-related macular degeneration in international peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals. I am also involved in teaching trainee ophthalmologists as a consultant at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Austin Hospital.
