Dr Vignesh Narasimhan

I am a highly specialised Colorectal and General Surgeon committed to delivering compassionate and comprehensive care for a broad spectrum of colorectal and general surgical conditions.

My medical expertise lies in managing colon and rectal cancer, rectal bleeding, haemorrhoids, fissures, hernias, gallbladder disease, pilonidal disease, appendix and small bowel pathology, as well as skin lesions, carpal tunnel, and ingrown toenails. In addition, I am a GESA certified endoscopist offering both gastroscopy and colonoscopy. I believe in treating each patient with the utmost respect and understanding, ensuring that they feel heard and cared for throughout their healthcare journey.

Having completed general surgical training at The Alfred Hospital and subspecialty training within the colorectal training program (CSSANZ) at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Monash Health, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to my patients. My commitment to providing the highest level of care is exemplified by a fellowship in robotic surgery and advanced colorectal oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

In addition to my roles at Monash Health and Alfred/Sandringham Hospitals, I hold the position of Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University. My passion for advancing medical knowledge is underscored by active involvement in research, with a portfolio comprising over 50 peer-reviewed publications and contributions to multiple book chapters.
