Cardiothoracic surgeon
I am a cardiothoracic surgeon who performs all major operations on the heart and lungs including heart and lung transplants and mechanical assist devices for heart failure. I have a specific interest in surgical options for heart failure and minimally invasive approaches for the treatment of lung and pleural conditions.
My qualifications include a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Flinders University. I was awarded a Fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009 and in the same year undertook post-graduate training in adult cardiothoracic and transplant surgery at the University of Virginia Health System, in Charlottesville Virginia.
I am actively involved in clinical cardiothoracic training and currently Supervisor of training at The Alfred Hospital. My other interests include thoracic surgical oncology, aortic stenting, minimally invasive surgery for atrial fibrillation and thoracic organ transplantation
