Cabrini Health is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of Capes Medical Supplies, a prominent player in the medical consumables and equipment supply sector.

The strategic move (made through Cabrini Health’s wholly owned subsidiary Biomedical Services New Zealand [“BSNZ”]) represents a significant milestone for Cabrini Health in New Zealand and positions it for accelerated growth and enhanced market presence.

With this acquisition, BSNZ will solidify its position as a key industry player, leveraging the expertise and resources of Capes Medical Supplies to expand its reach and diversify its offerings.

The combined entity will create a stronger competitive advantage, enabling a wider range of support for the hospital, primary care and aged care sectors in New Zealand.

Cabrini Health chief executive Sue Williams said the acquisition also allows Cabrini to expand its reach in the New Zealand medical equipment and consumable supply market.

The acquisition will strengthen Cabrini’s position in the sector and present new growth opportunities.

Tim Staker, Chief of Cabrini Technology Group and Director of BSNZ, adds that the combined entity will enable operational efficiencies while providing better access to current and new products to clients, which will further expand its trans-Tasman market footprint.

Cabrini’s Technology division operates from 18 locations within Australia and four in New Zealand, employing 550 staff, providing world-class support for technology used in healthcare, disability, government and enterprise.

In New Zealand, these services are provided through BSNZ. Capes Medical Supplies will continue to trade under the same established name.

They will now be part of the growing BSNZ group that provides technical services, medical capital equipment and consumables to hospitals, aged care and primary care sectors.
