What is translational research?
Often referred to as ‘bench to bedside discovery’, translational research encompasses the translation of basic research discoveries made in the laboratory to clinical applications, and the translation of clinical evidence into practice and policy change that benefit populations.
- Early phase preclinical organoid and mouse model research will lead to life saving therapies for cancer.
- Clinical trials will help to identify new and improved treatments and interventions.
- Research will inform how we provide better care and support for patients and our healthcare workers, how we reduce healthcare acquired complications, and improve patient outcomes.
- Research will identify practices and behaviours that will reduce low value healthcare and improve healthcare sustainability.
The scale of translational research is therefore enormous—and Cabrini is leading research in every phase of it.
