BIO
A/Prof Taghavi is highly skilled in performing a number of procedures and has successfully treated many patients with hypospadias, undescended testis, hernias, hydrocele, urinary retention, chordee of the penis, and bladder exstrophy complex.
A/Prof Taghavi works as a specialist paediatric urologist at Cabrini Malvern and holds a public appointment at Monash Children’s Hospital. He is also an Associate Professor with the Department of Paediatrics at Monash University.
After graduating from the University of Otago, A/Prof Taghavi became a fully qualified surgeon under the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Throughout his training, he worked at centres of excellence across Australia and New Zealand and completed post fellowship work in paediatric urology at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
A/Prof Taghavi has visited surgical centres across the UK and Europe, including Great Ormond Street Hospital in London and Hospital Necker-Enfants in Paris.
