Biography

Mr Andrew Gauden is a neurosurgeon who specialises in treating brain aneurysms, moyamoya disease, brain and spinal arteriovenous and other vascular malformations, as well as stroke and cerebrospinal fluid-venous disorders. In addition to his special interest, he offers a wide range of general neurosurgical services. Mr Gauden offers vertebroplasty in vertebral body fractures and percutaneous sclerotherapy for veno-lymphatic malformations.

Mr Gauden obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with First Class Honours at the University of Tasmania in 2008. He has subsequently trained with world-class neurosurgeons across Australia and New Zealand. He was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Macquarie University in 2017, having developed a world-first successful treatment for arteriovenous malformations with the combined treatment of stereotactic radiosurgery and vascular targeting. He has completed additional prestigious post-fellowship training in Cerebrovascular Surgery and Neurointerventional Radiology at Stanford University, California, USA.
