Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Cabrini is following all Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Commonwealth and other official recommendations to respond to the current coronavirus outbreak.

For regular updates and resources, please refer to the below DHHS webpages:

Please refer to Cabrini’s dedicated intranet page for more information and resources for staff and refer to our website for more about our response to COVID-19.

Symptoms and testing

In the line with DHHS advice, if you have any symptoms of COVID-19, however mild, you should seek medical advice and get tested.

Please do not attend work if you have any symptoms, however mild.

The symptoms to watch out for are fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose and loss or change in sense of smell or taste. In certain circumstances headache, muscle soreness, stuffy nose, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may also be considered.

You can undergo testing for COVID-19, in line with DHHS testing criteria, at the Cabrini Malvern staff testing clinic or at Cabrini General Practice. A list of external testing locations can be found here.

If you have serious symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, call 000 and ask for an ambulance (inform them you may have symptoms of COVID-19).

For further advice about symptoms or testing, please call the DHHS’ 24-hour coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398 or refer to their website. You can also refer to the DHHS’ online self-assessment tool.

Staff screening

Staff screening is now mandatory for all staff at Cabrini Malvern. Screening involves a temperature check, to detect signs of fever (a common symptom of COVID-19). Following this, staff will receive a screening sticker, to be placed in a visible position on your ID badge.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and wellbeing resources

Cabrini staff can access our Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which is a free and confidential service for you and your immediate family, for support. You can access our EAP on 1800 818 728.
