Dr Irena Idel

I am an obstetric medicine physician at Cabrini Malvern. I work collaboratively with obstetricians to provide a specific physician skill set in medically complex pregnancies. I coordinate and case manage medical care from preconception to post-partum and beyond. I focus on empowering women to participate in a preventative and proactive approach to maternal and fetal wellbeing, aiming for improved ‘whole-of-life’ health outcome.

My public appointment is at Eastern Health as a Clinical Lead in the Obstetric Medicine Department and as a Nephrologist. I am a SOMANZ Council member who is actively involved with Obstetric Medicine teaching and research.
