Dr Kobus Opperman
ENT Surgeon
I am a locally based, Fellowship-trained ENT, Head and Neck Surgeon with expertise in both adult and paediatric conditions. I take pride in being a meticulous and compassionate surgeon, always striving to achieve the best possible outcomes for my patients. As a parent myself, I understand the challenges families face when children are unwell, and I aim to provide a calm and welcoming environment for young patients in my care.
I completed my medical degree and specialist training at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, graduating Cum Laude. During my studies, I was honoured with the Vice-Chancellor and Principal Award for the top student across six years and was inducted into the Golden Key Society. I went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Otorhinolaryngology (Cum Laude), with research focused on post-tonsillectomy pain relief.
Following this, I undertook a Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncology in Melbourne and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
In addition to my private practice, I hold a Consultant position at Monash Health, where I am committed to both patient care and mentoring the next generation of ENT surgeons. Outside of medicine, I am a family man and a person of faith, actively involved in community upliftment projects.
