Dr Stephanie Wayne

I am an Australian-trained Cardiothoracic Surgeon with a focus on adult coronary, valvular, and aortic surgery.

My training took place primarily through Alfred Health and Monash Health, where I gained experience across all areas of adult cardiac surgery, including multiarterial coronary grafting. In early 2023, I completed a prestigious Adult Cardiac Surgery Fellowship at the Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where I subspecialised in complex mitral and aortic procedures.

Since 2024, I have held a public appointment at the Victorian Heart Hospital, and I operate privately at Cabrini Malvern and Monash Heart Private. In addition to my clinical practice, I am passionate about surgical education. I founded a nationwide hybrid teaching program for Cardiothoracic SET trainees and regularly contribute as a reviewer for international journals such as Annals of Thoracic Surgery and the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.
