Dr Michael B Johnson

I am a paediatric orthopaedic surgeon with a subspecialty focus on scoliosis and spine deformity surgery. In my role as Head of Paediatric Orthopaedics at the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH), I oversee the treatment of a broad range of spinal issues, including scoliosis and cervical spine disorders, providing care for complex cases in children.

Beyond spinal care, I treat various general orthopaedic conditions in children, such as hip dysplasia, club foot, and other bone and joint problems. I am particularly proud to have introduced the Bipolar Instrumentation system to Australia, a minimally invasive technique for managing neuromuscular scoliosis, offering improved outcomes for my patients.

My goal is to deliver the highest level of care, ensuring each child receives personalised treatment tailored to their unique needs.
